Helena Bonham Carter, CBE (born 26 May 1966) is an English actress. She was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role as Kate Croy in The Wings of the Dove (1997). For her role as Queen Elizabeth in The King's Speech (2010), she was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress and won the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. She also won the 2010 International Emmy Award for Best Actress for her role as British author Enid Blyton in the TV film Enid (2009).

Helena Bonham Carter played Lady Tottington in Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Bellatrix Lestrange in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix through Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, Mrs. Bucket in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Julia Hoffman in Dark Shadows, Fairy Godmother in the live action Cinderella, Red Queen in Alice in Wonderland and Alice Through the Looking Glass, Mother Squirrel in The Gruffalo and Marla Singer from Fight Club.

  • She returned to work eight months after giving birth to her son Billy Ray in order to begin filming Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005).
